Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a fiery address at a women's rally in West Bengal's Barasat, just days before International Women's Day on March 8. In his speech, he launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, accusing it of shielding criminals and obstructing the implementation of central schemes.

Focusing on the recent Sandeshkhali case in Bengal's North 24 Parganas district, PM Modi expressed solidarity with the women of the region, whom he referred to as his "parivar" (family). He condemned the atrocities committed against women in Sandeshkhali and criticized the TMC government for failing to address their concerns. The case involves allegations of sexual abuse and land grab against jailed and suspended TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan and his associates, sparking widespread protests by local women.

PM Modi highlighted the judiciary's interventions in the case, emphasizing that both the high court and the Supreme Court had rebuked the TMC government's handling of the matter. He accused TMC leaders of perpetrating violence against women and prioritizing the protection of the accused over justice for the victims.

In a bid to connect with the audience ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi reiterated the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) commitment to women's empowerment and safety. Responding to recent remarks by RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav questioning his family status, PM Modi asserted that all the people present at the rally were his family, dismissing allegations of 'Parivarvad' (dynastic politics).

PM Modi's impassioned speech resonated with the crowd, underscoring the BJP's focus on women's issues and its stance against corruption and injustice. As the political landscape in West Bengal heats up, PM Modi's rallying cry serves as a rallying point for supporters and a challenge to the ruling TMC ahead of the elections.
